This book is the first in the Outlander series and part of the Outlander Series Reading Challenge hosted by yours truly. The book follows heroine Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser who is a WII nurse living in the 1940’s with her husband Frank Randall. A few hundred pages in, I finally got into the story, only to quickly find that I could not finish reading the book. The scene where Jamie beats Claire within an inch of her life could have been used as a turning point for the characters, but instead was a quick moment that was quickly forgotten/forgiven by Claire.
